Home to more than 60 kilometers of world-class nordic ski trails, Giants Ridge has long been a Minnesota cross country ski destination. In fact, the vast cross country trail system at Giants Ridge was originally designed and once served as a training center for U.S. Ski Team athletes. Today, the same expansive nordic trails at Giants Ridge traverse the Superior National Forest and offer a variety of cross country trail terrain for skiers of all ages and abilities, including green, blue and black trails.
Our quiet, family run resort on Minnesota's north shore of Lake Superior is your retreat from the world. Cabins nestled along the shore, to fireplace suites in our main lodge and motel rooms overlooking the lake, as well as lake homes for larger groups. Including pet-friendly rooms. Winter in Minnesota brings scenic, snowy landscapes and crisp, fresh air. It’s the perfect backdrop for cross-country skiing. This recreational activity is a peaceful way to explore the parks in winter while getting a great, low-impact workout. Three Rivers features over 80 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails at various locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area, and certain parks offer rental equipment, including adapted equipment. Trails are available for skiers of all skill levels.
