Come see why our 39 km trail system is loved by so many. Beautiful and interesting trails wind through old woods, past classic Vermont scenery, around a busy beaver pond, and along side the West River. Our terrain is mixed from easy, short wooded loops that keep skiers out of the wind and near the ski center to longer treks out to picnic tables placed at scenic vistas. We meticulously groom 35 km of ski trails for both classic and skate ski techniques and have 4 km of dedicated snowshoe trails. Snowshoes are allowed on most of our ski trails and if conditions are right, fat bikes too.
Stowe Mountain Resort's Cross Country Ski Center offers 45 kilometers of groomed trails and 30 kilometers of backcountry terrain. At our rental shop, we offer a wide selection of nordic snowsport gear including snowshoes, touring gear, performance skate ski and classic ski packages, and backcountry gear. We also have a full selection of kids gear for children age 3 and older, including little snowshoes and sleds for the sledding hill. Also available is a pulk sled for parents with infants/toddlers.

The Outdfoor Center is fully ADA accessible, offers a full service rental shop, and a PSIA certified ski school. Relax and refuel by the warm wood stove, enjoy the great food, warm beverages and a cozy atmosphere.
Trapp Family Lodge is home to the first cross-country ski center in the country, and it’s the largest in Stowe. But cross-country skiing isn’t the only winter activity you can enjoy here; backcountry skiing and snowshoeing are also popular activities at our resort. A converted horse barn houses our rental shop and warming room. We have rentals to fit all sizes: skis 70 cm. to 210cm and boots from kids size 9 to adult size 15. We also rent snowshoes. Bring your younger children along and ski while they enjoy the ride behind you in a pulk sled.
Catamount offers over 35 kilometers of cross country ski trails groomed for both classical and skate techniques. The terrain is varied with both flat and hilly trails and includes both wooded and open sections that offer beautiful views and scenic vistas. We have marked loops with colored arrows for ease of navigation. Trail passes are available for the day (any 4 hours or less or a full day) or you can enjoy the benefits of a Winter Season Pass and ski as often as you like. Come out and explore the property! We offer a full service rental center with equipment from Salomon for both adults and kids. Warm up in our rustic lodge and enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. No dogs please.
Winter activities include 15 kilometers of machine groomed trails. Our snowmaking system guarantees skiing all season along 5k of trails. Dedicated snowshoe trails, 600' long tubing hill, fat bike trail network and guided wine & cheese snowshoe tours. Base lodge, lessons & rentals. The Grafton Inn, located just 3/4 mile away with lodging, pub and fine dining. Grafton Trails is part of the Windham Foundation, whose mission is to promote Vermont's rural communities. Summer programs focus on mountain biking, kids adventure camps, hiking, disc golf and water recreation.
Craftsbury is a unique, nonprofit, year-round resort in Vermont offering lodging, meals and outdoor programs for reasonable rates. The friendly atmosphere is complemented by simple lodging and buffet-style meals. The Center has recently taken over the nearby Highland Lodge trail system adding another 40km of higher-elevation connected trails. Craftsbury has reliable snow thanks to a powerful snowmaking installation, unique local climate, and intensive snow farming/grooming. During summer we offer rowing camps on our lake.

Memphremagog Ski Touring Foundation MSTF is a nonprofit corporation with a mission to create and promote a system of high quality ski and snowshoe trails in the Derby- Newport region of Vermont. MSTF trails vary from railroad flat to precipitous, with skate and classic machine grooming on the core network.
Prospect Mountain Nordic is a cross country ski center in Woodford, Vermont. It is the highest in Vermont and the closest to major New England cities.
Come explore and play on Edson Hill’s historic trail network which was created by the Heath Family in the 1950s. Maintained by an old “Trucker” snowcat with skis on the front, Larry Heath remembers skijoring with guests way back then. Edson Hill’s current team has been working hard to bring the trails and our entire nordic offering back to its glory while providing our guests and all of Stowe with another great ski area for groomed cross country skiing, side- and back-country access as well as snowshoeing.
From December to April we maintain groomed skating and tracked classic Nordic trails, all situated on fantastic terrain in a beautiful setting. Our commitment to these trails has grown and we have invested resources into improving the trails themselves. On Darling Hill, said to be the “prettiest mile in Vermont” we maintain 15 kilometers of skating and classic trails that wind through field and forest. You can’t beat the vista from these trails, looking out at Willoughby Gap as you tour next to historic barns, quaint inns and majestic Victorian houses. This is also the home training grounds for Burke Mountain Academy, Lyndon Institute, and St. Johnsbury Academy Nordic Ski Teams.
Trail difficulty ranges from beginner to intermediate and are maintained primarily with a Tiddtech G2 Groomer, a Yellowstone roller/compactor and 2 Yamaha 4- stroke ProVK snowmobiles. We roll our system to ensure a quality base that will last through the season. This year we have several newly designed trails and bridges. We offer programs and events throughout the winter and also offer 40 kilometers of packed trails for snowshoeing & fat bikes.
Onion River Nordic Ski Club is about friends, families and athletes coming together to enjoy the healthy pursuit of Nordic Skiing in all its forms, from backcountry exploring to recreational track skiing to competitive racing. By sharing enthusiasm for our sport through educational programs, fun activities and share experiences, ORN aims to become a premier Nordic ski club in New England by providing every possible opportunity for our members to participate in and enjoy lifelong activity of Nordic skiing.

The Marlboro Nordic Ski Club maintains and grooms approximately 15 kilometers of ski trails on the Potash Hill Campus and throughout the town of Marlboro. Usage of the campus ski trails requires paying a day fee or purchasing a membership with the Marlboro Nordic Ski Club. Only skiers and snowshoers may use the campus trails in the wintertime so we can provide safe and reliable ski conditions, walking on the trails and dogs are not allowed. On campus, we have approximately 5 kilometers of trails that are groomed for both skate and classic skiing while the rest are for classic skiing.
