Across the grounds of the historic Mount Washington Resort and the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center is one of the largest cross country ski areas on the East Coast. The 100 kilometer trail network crosses open fields, meanders through woods of spruce and fir, passes beaver ponds and mountain streams, and traverses open hardwood stands.
Jackson Ski Touring Foundation presents state of the art grooming on trails designed to suit every taste and ability, whether you prefer quiet striding through old growth New England forest or all out skate skiing and an international race course. You can visit on-trail destinations: the warming cabin and Cocoa Café on the Ellis River Trail and numerous eateries and pubs and inns. All this is contained within a charming New England village that takes pride in its long established traditions of great skiing and warm hospitality
The Adventure Center is the place to start and end your ski day, with a crackling fire and the camaraderie of our staff and new found skiing friends. We are located in Town Square, where you can access our 70+ km of trails. Trails are also accessible from the Alpine area once you have your ticket and gear. We groom for skate and classic skiing on our trails that traverse through the White Mountain Nation Forest. Snowshoeing is welcome on any trail and fat biking is welcome on select trails with purchase of trail pass.
Great Glen Trails is celebrating its 30th anniversary this winter.
You will be treated to stunning views of the northern presidential range, a top-of-the-charts outfitter shop, ski/snowshoe/fat bike rentals for all ages as well as a super friendly and accomplished Ski School staff.
With 20+ kilometers of trails groomed daily and another 20 kilometers of off-track skiing and snowshoeing, you should plan to spend a day here exploring. Try snow tubing or the Mt Washington SnowCoach for something different.
Dog-friendly snowshoe trails are available and so is onsite lodging at the Glen House Hotel.
Gunstock is New Hampshire’s closest major ski area to Boston with breathtaking views of lake Winnipesaukee, perfect for a family vacation or weekend getaway for two. We make snow for our Nordic trails, and at the peak of the season, enjoy up to 24km of groomed trails. All the Nordic trails are multi-use, so bring your classic or skate skis, snowshoes, fat bike, or dog for skijoring.
Eastman boasts 32 km of impeccably groomed trails that stretch out over the championship golf course, meander through the woods along a crystal clear brook and glide over rolling hills in John’s Glen. Eastman offers trails for all ability levels, competitive rates, and our PSIA certified instructors are ready to introduce you to the sport or help you expand your skills. A full line of rental equipment is available, as well as snowshoes and ice skates. Throughout the season there are variety of special events that make Eastman Cross Country Center the ideal place to spend the day with family and friends.
Cross country ski or snowshoe 40 km of trails, groomed for both classical skiing or skate skiing, through riverside hayfields, mountainside spruce and hemlock forests offering a diverse selection of terrain for all abilities from easy rolling hills to more challenging intermediate and back country trails. This intown network connects Intervale, Kearsarge, and North Conway. Stay and ski free packages available, many trailside location. Our events include weekly guided snowshoe walks and snowshoe yoga along with two annual fundraisers, the Whitaker Woods Snowshoe Scramble in January and our popular annual Inn-to-Inn Chocolate Festival in February. Intown trails are open to Fat Tire bikes based on conditions, and dogs.
Wolfeboro is well known as "The Oldest Summer Resort In America". In winter Wolfeboro transforms into "The X-C Ski Village of The Lakes Region". Located on the east shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, you'll love it's tranquil beauty, special events, fine dinning, unique shops, lodging and services. All trails are meticulously machine groomed daily with a fleet of state of the art machines including a Bombardier BR180XC, through forests and open fields, over easy to advanced terrain. Two cozy warming huts are available. For over 40 years The Nordic Skier(Voted Best Nordic Shop in New England 2014) is the headquarters for XC skiing and provides a complete retail shop chuck full of the best gear, clothing and accessories. You will enjoy a variety of terrain from gently sloped novice trails to screaming descents for the thrill seekers. Plus over 30km of Snowshoe trails.
Pine Hill Ski Club is a cross country ski touring club accessed from Mountain Road in New London, NH. It is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that maintains nearly 20 kilometers of trails opened by generous landowners. All trails are groomed by volunteers for classic skiing. Sections of trail are open for Nordic skiers who bring their dogs.
Trail fees are $15 for a daily pass, collected weekdays by the honor system, with collection boxes at the trailhead. Fees pay for expenses such as snow grooming equipment, insurance and gas.
The Dartmouth Cross Country Ski Center maintains 30 kilometers of groomed cross country ski trails on Oak Hill, the old golf course and Garipay Field in Hanover, New Hampshire. We also offer ice skating on Occom Pond for ice skating. The Cross Country Ski Center has two facilities. One is based out of the DOC House on Occom Pond, which provides equipment rentals for skiing, skating, and other winter activities. The other facility is at Oak Hill, which offers groomed nordic trails, group and private instruction and many great programs throughout the winter!
The Franconia Inn maintains a network of trails totaling over 65km. Most of the trails are single track in width, winding through the woods, over brooks and across meadows. We believe our single track trails create a very intimate feeling with the forest, unlike the larger double track commercial touring centers. Rentals available.
Our goal is to create a backcountry “wilderness” cross country ski experience that the whole family could enjoy and contribute to building a healthy community. After nineteen years this is our largest expansion yet with over 50 kilometers of groomed skate and classic ski trails. Along with the new trails will be two 2.5 kilometer ski courses that have been designed by Morton Trails to the International Ski Federation Homologation ("Olympic") standards. There are two main entrances, one at 1756 NH RT 118 in Dorchester, New Hampshire and the other along a residential road between Reservoir Pond in Lyme and Cummins Pond in Dorchester, NH.
The Nansen Ski Club is the oldest continually operating ski club in America, established in the late 1800's. We provide groomed Nordic ski & snowshoe trails at Milan Hill State Park in northern New Hampshire, while we also work to restore "The Big Nansen" - a 172 foot ski jump which hosted the first Olympic jumping trials in 1938.
