As a long-time leader in the Nordic skiing
community, Blaine County Recreation District (BCRD) has acquired North America’s first fully electric Nordic snow cat, a PistenBully 100e.

The PistenBully 100e is 100% emissions-free and is the world’s first all-electric drive snow groomer. Featuring a fast charge time, the quiet operation of the 100e will also reduce noise pollution.

BCRD has added the PistenBully 100e to their current fleet of snow grooming equipment that maintains over 160 kilometers of trails for up to six months of the year. BCRD raised funds from the Nordic skiing community to make this purchase, the first of its kind.

“Our community is passionate about Nordic skiing,” says BCRD’s Director of Trails, Eric Rector. “BCRD works hard to maintain the best ski surface possible. We are proud and excited to add the PistenBully 100e to our fleet, furthering our commitment to move our grooming fleet
into the future. We are thankful for the support of Peterson Equipment and PistenBully in making this project possible”

BCRD’s new PistenBully 100e will be located at Quigley Trails Park in Hailey and will be used for daily grooming once season operations begin.

Blaine County Recreation District provides healthy, active, and diverse recreational
opportunities for our community.
