description Nine Mile Forest trails are double tracked with a skating lane and are generally one-way. The chalet also has a warming area with a wood stove. Over 6 km of trails are lighted until 9 p.m. with the chalet open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights until 9 p.m.
Named after a unique natural feature, the forest has over 4900 acres of uplands, marshes and water impoundments available to the public for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hunting, snowmobiling, nature study, bird watching, horseback riding and berry picking. Nine Mile is managed to maintain and protect its ecosystems while also providing wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities and sustainable timber production.
