Three Rivers Park District features a combined 112 km of groomed trails for all skill levels at various locations. Elm Creek Park Reserve is the largest boasting 4,900 acres. Featuring amenities for almost every outdoor activity, including the Winter Recreation Area, Eastman Nature Center, miles of hiking and biking trails, a swimming pond, and much more. The Preserve is home to a variety of wildlife: eagles, sandhill cranes, deer, bluebirds, beavers, loons, Trumpeter Swans and hawks. Daily grooming. Rental gear for all ages and abilities. For the cross-country skier, Duluth offers some of the best trails in the state. Duluth’s hills, ravines, and creeks create pockets of wilderness into which the city has tucked 70 kilometers of trails. Wherever you live or work you’re probably less than ten minutes from a trailhead. Six city trails provide 70K for every level of skier. Among them are Chester Bowl, Hartley, Lester/Amity, Magney-Snively, Piedmont and the Spirit Mountain Nordic Center. It’s heaven for skiers. Bluefin Bay Resort is located on Lake Superior. The Sugarbush cross-country ski trail is located just minutes from the resort; with a ski down to the resort. Our guests have xc-ski equipment, ice skates, sleds, snowshoes and a waxing table for their use during their stay. Lutsen Mountain downhill skiing is just 10 minutes from our resort.
