Elivation and views are what set us apart in our area. We have plenty of flat and rolling terrain, but we are not a golf course, to get the views you must have some hills. We welcome well behaved pets, and host a large sled dog race in Jan. Biathlon is also on the schedule in mid Jan. with an oppertunity to give it a try during clinic sessions. Harris Farm X-C Ski Center has 40k of trails that ramble across the open fields and through the sheltered forest of our 500 acre dairy and tree farm.Trails range from gentle beginners' loops to rolling terrain for more advanced skiers. Thirty kilometers are groomed with wide skating lanes and 35 kilometers are track set. The warming hut houses a common room with wood stove, retail and rental equipment,ski shop, restrooms, and a kitchen serving lite lunches on the weekends. Open for skiing 7 days a week when we have snow. Just 1/2 mile from Colby College and a mile from downtown Waterville these beautiful trails meander along Messalonskee Stream. A total of 12 km of trails are groomed for skate and classic skiing. 7.5 km of new trails complete a competitive ski loop and sprint loop and climb up and around the historic Colby ski hill. Snowmaking and a Welcome Yurt completes this multiyear project making it a premier cross country ski location. Trails are groomed daily by Waterville Parks and Recreation Department. Snowshoeing trails, dog walking, sledding also available.
