CCSAA Summer Summit – Woodstock, VT – Wednesday, June 28
CCSAA is pleased to continue the Summer Summit Workshops, short, one day regional meetings keying in on relevant topics.
The NE Summer Summit will emphasize resources, research, fat bike rentals, summer groomer maintenance, trail reporting and more.
Morning seminars will be 30 minute sprints, 25min presentation with 5min of questions. The afternoon hands on sessions will follow lunch and the day will conclude with a short trail run or mountain bike ride followed by happy-hour. There will be plenty of time for networking during the lunch and the afternoon trail session.

Wednesday, June 28
9:00am Update on Website as a CCSAA Resources – Reese Brown – Reese will give a brief review on the CCSAA website resources, new CCSAA Projects, and share a few SIA market statistics and industry/Social Trends.
9:30am HR Roundtable for the Smaller NE Ski Area – Join the discussion on how to determine your staffing needs, how to source staff, tips and ideas. Identify common problems and begin the road to finding solutions.
10am Noon – Hands on Sessions begin
10am – Summer Maintenance for the Large and Small Machine – Suicide Six Crew and Manufactures Reps -The Woodstock Nordic Center and Suicide Six have two Pisten Bullys, one BR180, and several smaller machines. Join the discussion of what they do to prep the machines for summer and learn about necessary summer maintenance. The shop foreman and reps from the grooming world will be on hand to discuss best practices and more. This will be hands on.
11am – Enhance the On & Off Trail Experience | Reach New Customers, Retail Existing with TrailHUB – Shannon King, Owner of TrailHUB -Shannon will share a brief overview of new Search, Communication & Promotion Features on the TrailHUB Platform. He will then be available for a group session to help you reach your target customers AND Build out your TrailHUB online presence. Bring your computer and smart phone. Work with Shannon on starting your TrailHUB setup OR tweaking what you have already built. Collaboration & Idea sharing will also be encouraged. Get the most out of this innovative platform!
Noon LUNCH (provided) – Opportunity to sit on the deck and network over a delicious bag lunch provided by The Woodstock Inn
12:45pm – Hands on Sessions Continue
12:45 – National Ski Patrol Safety Plan Workshop – Bring your laptop to this, you will receive a template and be guided through the process of creating a customized safety plan for your ski area. The goal is to leave with a complete ready to implement safety plan.
2:30 – Fat Bike Maintenance and Demo Fleet Management –Bruce Diehle, Swix -Bruce is the NE rep for Swix and Salomon and a long time skier and cyclist. Bruce will take you through a hands on Fat Bike Maintenance session that every ski areas should integrate into their Fat Bike Program. He will also discuss Demo Fleet Management and share best practices on keeping your demo fleet in top condition and earning money for you. The session will conclude with Demo rides on the Swix bikes followed by a trail ride for all interested. Feel free to bring your own bike.
3:00pm – Exercise – Fat Bike, Mt Bike, Roller Ski, Trail Run – Join your fellow CCSAA members in one of several activities dear to us all. All activities depart from the Suicide Six Parking lot.
